Acrylic Photo Disc: Our Newest Product | Vinyl Record Wall Art

We’ve been very busy putting together some new offerings. And, we are very excited to unveil one of them: an acrylic photo disc! Now, these “vinyl records” are all acrylic. Using our proven printing methods, we’ve developed a way to print your photos to look like a record.

The concept was super fun to design, and even more fun to introduce to our customers. It really taps into the “movie moments” of life, where everything – from the sky, to the smells, to the sounds, all fits together. And of course, in those moments, a song usually pops into your head, right?

As we love customization at Big Acrylic, we decided to leave all the fun up to you. When you go to order, you have the opportunity to put in your “song request” that is, any song and artist that you’d like featured on your print. And we’ll take care of the rest!

As you can see from some design mock-ups, the possibilities are endless. You can choose any song you want!

How much does this Acrylic Photo Disc cost?

The acrylic photo disc costs $79 + shipping. The record is 17.5″ in diameter, for a similarly-sized acrylic print, the cost would be much higher.

Just to clarify, the image is not printed onto a vinyl record, right?

Correct. Your image is printed onto acrylic, and surrounded by an image of a record. All of the images are printed onto 1/8″ thick acrylic and come with the float-off-the-wall hanging option. So, when the acrylic photo disc goes onto your wall, it will look as though it is floating. Our printing process means that the acrylic will come out clear, and sharp, and it will look like a record. Only, this record comes without the grooves and with a bit more shine, making it very easy to clean!

How customizable is the product? Could I change the font or label color?

Yes! Of course! We don’t want to re-invent the wheel with every image, but we are definitely open to changing the font or label color of the record. If you’d like these alterations, please let us know in the comments section of your order. If you’d like a change of font, do try and suggest one, or suggest a style you’re looking for. As long as the font is available for commercial use, we are able to print it!

We will send you a proof to approve of before going into production. So if you’d like to change anything about your print, you will have one final opportunity to do so! Just remember that the image you receive may be at a reduced quality in order to send in an email. We will let you know if your image will not work for this product.

What image should I choose?

Any image you want! The photo you choose will be about 6″ in diameter. So really, any photo works. As usual, we would ask for at least a resolution of 150 d.p.i. The point of the our vinyl record wall art is to create a piece that is truly meaningful to you, or whoever receives it. So any image works!

Landscape images or portrait images both work well, so really, the freedom to create is all yours.

What is the turnaround time?

Currently, our printing lead times are 6-7 business days. Then allow 3-4 days for shipping. We are able to expedite shipping, if need be, but there will be an associated surcharge. If there is any delay in receiving your product, we will advise you. If you have not received your product after a week, reach out and let us know. We will do our best to make sure the product arrives.

I have an image, but I don’t have a song. Could you recommend me some songs?

Sure! We’re not Spotify, but we can certainly try to find a song that captures the mood of your image! The best course of action is to Google some songs that deal with your subject matter. If it’s a photo of you and your mother, Google suggests “The Mother” by Brandi Carlile for your caption/song. But, if you are really in a pickle, you can definitely contact us for some recommendations!

Don’t worry about being “too niche” or “too cheesy.” Some songs, like “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang, are classics for a reason! But don’t be afraid to go into deeper cuts, especially if the print is a gift for someone special.
