Metal Prints
What You Need to Know
What material is used in the metal prints?
Our metal prints are printed on dibond. Dibond is an aluminum composite material (ACM) made of two thin aluminium sheets with a solid polyethylene core.
What are the advantages of printing on metal?
Metal prints don’t cast a reflection, and therefore are not shiny like our acrylic prints.
How do you print on metal?
We print onto the front of the metal using a special digital printer.
Where can I display metal prints?
Homes, offices, hospitals, institutions, trade shows, airports, hotels. Anywhere there is wall space, really!
Can you create custom sizes?
Yes, we can create custom sizes – just email us directly or through our consultation section.
What’s the largest size you can produce?
We can produce metal prints up to 60” x 96”.
Are there different digital metal print surfaces?
We offer both white metal and brushed metal.
What are the advantages of both?
White metal offers amazing color contrast. Brushed metal has a brushed pattern on it. With brushed metal, you can leave areas of your photos white and see the brushed pattern untouched.
Is there a way to make both styles glossy?
Yes. If you like the properties of metal, but desire a shiny finish, we can add varnish.
Can you produce custom shapes?
Yes! Send us your ideas.
Can you create metal prints in multiple panels?
We can cut an image into panels. You can view samples of this style in the Customer Creation section of our website. Just send us your photo for a free consultation.
What display options do you offer?
We offer the hang off the wall float, standoff and metal box option.
What’s the most popular display option?
The hang off the wall float option is the most popular option for our metal prints.
Will the color fade over time?
Our UV ink and digital printing method allow your acrylic print to look amazing for many years, even when exposed to direct sunlight.
Can I display my metal print outdoors?
Yes! Our metal prints can withstand even the harshest weather conditions.
Are metal prints scratchproof?
They are scratch-resistant, but not scratchproof. For example, if you take a key to a metal print, it will scratch.
How do I know how to select the best size for my image when ordering my metal print?
Easy. After you download your image on our website, you can use our crop tool to crop to your desired size.
How do I know the color of my Metal will match the image I see on my monitor?
Every printer and monitor see an image differently. In most cases, the color printed will be accurate and exceed your expectations. If you want an exact color match you need to send us a physical copy to match with, however 95% of our customers do not take this route.
How do I find an image to use for my metal print?
There are many sites that offer free images. You can find free images on Pixabay and Unsplash. There are also many sites where you can purchase images for a reasonable price. Shutterstock is a paying site which is user friendly. When you find an image you like, send us a message through our consultation section with the image number.
What type of file should I send to create my metal?
You can use JPEG, TIF, PDF and EPS files. If the downloader on our site is slow because of the file size, you can send your image through https://bigacrylic.wetransfer.com/
What happens if my metal print arrives broken?
We package the Metal beyond expectations so that it arrives without damage. In the event that damage does occur during shipping, just email us a photo of the breakage and we will redo your order.
